On December 14, 2024, Third Culture Tales took the stage in Berkeley for a night of powerful storytelling, music, and shared experiences. Hosted at East Bay Media Center, the event brought together a sold-out audience eager to hear stories that transcend borders and redefine belonging.
The night’s storytellers brought a range of perspectives to the stage. Kajal shared a heartfelt reflection on navigating displacement and the meaning of home, blending humor and vulnerability in a way that resonated deeply. Liv explored the complexities of growing up between cultures, where finding a sense of belonging often meant creating one’s own identity. Abdullah captivated the audience with his journey of adaptation and reinvention, showing how living between worlds shapes the way we see ourselves. Kelleh closed out the storytelling portion of the night with a moving piece on self-discovery, queerness, and embracing the evolving nature of identity.
The evening was elevated by a stunning musical performance from Borna, whose voice and piano brought the room to an emotional standstill. The combination of stories and music created an unforgettable atmosphere—one of reflection, connection, and celebration of what it means to exist between cultures.
Berkeley welcomed Third Culture Tales with open arms, and the energy in the room was undeniable. If you missed this one, stay tuned—because we’re only getting started.
